You can now register for the 2016 Hike-A-Thon!
What’s new in 2016:
There are three new sites for 2016, for a total of 14. PLUS, for those who are a little more adventurous, RockSport will be leading a climbing group on the face of Rogers’ Slide! Anyone who is interested in joining them must sign up through RockSport; there is a fee involved. We’re providing the t-shirts, but they’re doing the rest. Just let them know that you want to join the Hike-A-Thon climb. Go to http://www.rocksportny.com/index.asp, or call (518) 793-4626 for details. The new sites are:
Pole Hill Pond (Bolton) – ~5.8 mile loop, including view of Lake George from Walnut Ridge. Moderate to challenging hike. http://www.lglc.org/preserves/pole-hill-pond/
Rogers’ Rock (Ticonderoga) – we’ll access the overlook from Valley View Farm on Rt 9 by special permission from the owners. Moderate hike, about 3 miles round-trip, recommended for families with kids 7 and up (or in backpacks). https://lakegeorgehikeathon.org/sites/rogers-rock/
Northwest Bay Paddle (Bolton) – From the NYS Northwest Bay boat launch, paddle through the Northwest Bay marsh and out to the point of Loines Preserve, about 3-miles round-trip. Must have own kayak or canoe. https://lakegeorgehikeathon.org/sites/northwest-bay/
Plus, have new Hike-A-Thon merchandise! Check out our registration page for more info on how to get your own stuff.
And, of course, we are also looking for more volunteers who can share their experience and trail knowledge with our hikers. If you are an experienced hike leader and would like to be an integral part of the Hike-A-Thon, please visit our volunteer page, or contact Sarah at 518-644-9673 (email firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you!
